We wake reasonably early (bearing in mind that the sun only comes up at 8 am) and Paul goes down into Aberfeldy to get rid of some 'disposable clothing' in the charity bin and to buy bread for breakfast. Paul even washed the car this morning in anticipation
of meeting my cousin in London, with whom I have been corresponding for years
but have never met.
So with a heavy heart, we load our luggage into our car,
pay our bill at the office, and we are on our way, to the next stage of our
journey.
When you use RCI timeshare in Scotland, be aware that
they charge you for the electricity you have used, which is on a metering
system. Strange, but true.
We drive out of Aberfeldy, then down towards a little town called Crieff.
On the way we stop to take a picture of this beautiful valley!
We then see a tractor called "WEE JOCK" ! LOL!!
We stop briefly in Crieff, before picking up the highway and heading south, bypassing Stirling and Glasgow before heading down to Carlisle. We travel back through Cumbria and on towards
Preston (which is about halfway to London). Paul managed to get a haircut in Crieff at this little
Turkish Barber shop.
Just before Carlisle which is just on the English side of the border between
Scotland and England, we stop at the services for coffee.
I had made sandwiches for lunch from all our leftover food. We bought
coffee, but I ditched it after taking a sip. Come on! How can you profess to
sell coffee when it bears absolutely NO resemblance to coffee?!!
I am sad to be leaving Scotland, it is certainly a
beautiful country and I hope that I have the opportunity to return some day.
Traveling on the main highways in the UK is so peaceful,
many cars but also many trucks, or as they say here "HGVs" (heavy goods vehicles). Everyone is so courteous, and abides by the
speed limits. Cars always move over to
the left, allowing you to pass on the right. Same road rules as South Africa,
but here everyone respects and abides by the rules. (so different from our bunch in SA)
